Elbar is Bianca 27 that was built in Denmark in 1965 and is the first of over 600 of her type built. She was exhibited at the 1966 London Boat Show and bought by the first owner, who named her using his initials. She is registered in London as number 308088 on the British Ships Registry. Elbar has been in the current ownership for the past 40 years. The engine has been serviced every December before being winterised and laid up for about 6 months. Every alternate year the boat has been laid up ashore and the mast unstepped to allow for repainting and inspection and replacement of rigging as necessary. The boat has been used for family holidays (2 adults and 2 children) around the Solent and local south coast of Hampshire and Dorset. She sails well, is dry under all conditions, very well balanced, light on the helm and surprisingly quick. Fittings and equipment are basic, simple and reliable.
